1. Explain how you changed your photo in the lab to create a stencil.

  This project began in the computer lab and we all picked a landmark or automobile and photoshopped it so it would better fit our stencil later. The photoshopped version of our pictures was strictly black and white, this helped you see the negative and positives spaces. After that we used a big brown piece of construction paper to make a collage out of things from magazines and books. I used scraps from art,dance, production and poetry pieces and then covered them with water colors by splatter painting it on. Next, I had to draw the outline of my stencil onto a large white poster board. After i did that i had to use the Xacto knife to cut my stencil out. Finally i had to spray paint my stencil onto my collage and i tried to pick colors that had a lot of contrast but that went together nicely. I'm actually very pleased with this composition!
